Many people are obsessed with drinking hot water
The average person does not know the benefits of drinking hot water. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty well versed in the area of eating and drinking the right stuff and I too was ignorant about drinking hot water.
A couple of month ago I was at a Manhattan nightclub with my wife and her best friend and I noticed my wife’s friend was doing something very peculiar – she was drinking hot water. So, I eagerly asked her why and her response surprised the hell out of me.
“I drink hot water all day long for the health benefits it provides – mainly to detoxify my body.”

The biggest benefit from drinking any form of water is hydration for your body. This hydration helps the kidneys flush waste products and toxins from the body and provides a medium for all of the biochemical and metabolic processes in your body.
While any type of water can provide your body with hydration, hot water may help you lose weight or maintain your current weight. “Hot water may increase body temperature and therefore increases the metabolic rate slightly,” states Dr. Michael Wald, the director of Nutritional Services at Integrated Medicine and Nutrition in Mount Kisco, New York.
An increased metabolic rate causes your body to use more calories throughout the day, although whether it creates enough of a change to cause weight loss is questionable. The increased metabolic rate may help the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys function more efficiently, detoxifying the body by stimulating the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys, Wald explains. Drinking hot water may even make your weight loss efforts more enjoyable. Wald explains that when hot water is consumed, the receptors in the mouth, esophagus, stomach and intestines stimulate "the pleasure centers in the brain."
If you suffer from constant constipation, drinking hot water before or after your meals works like magic. I had been suffering from constipation for years until I started drinking hot water. I tried everything and nothing worked. But the same day I starting drinking hot water my constipation went away and my stool became soft. It was truly a magical experience.
And by the way, add pure lemon juice to the water for greater benefits, and boil the water to remove impurities. I drink it as hot as I can tolerate it without burning my mouth.
